Welcome to Lace & Pine Designs! I am so excited to begin this new venture, sharing my passions and giving myself an occasional escape from the crazy life as a stay at home mom. Lace & Pine’s name came to me one day as I was thinking about my “home”. I am a military wife, so “home” is constantly moving, following my husband wherever the USMC sees fit. However, my home and heart will always be with the Pacific Northwest. I always enjoyed the landscape of the northwest growing up. Before I moved away from my city for the first time, I was hiking up to 3 times a week in the Cascades, enjoying the serene quiet of the mountains surrounded by pine trees. Hiking on those trails was a precious time for me to be with God in all His glory. I usually hiked alone (now that I’m older and wiser; I do not recommend this). For me, those mountains brought me back to life and helped me find balance where chaos of my 20-something life was beginning to get out of control. In those mountains I found peace and a renewal of life.

A couple years ago we drove from southern California to Seattle for Christmas. As we drove into Oregon and the landscape began to change, tears began to fill my eyes. To me, there is nothing more beautiful than seeing a line of pine trees reaching for the sky in their green glory.

Lace & Pine Designs is a name representative of who I am. A woman who appreciates the feminine and traditional life while also enjoying the country life and the great outdoors.  Aesthetically, I love a more rustic look for my home with hints of pretty thrown in.

I have always been one who “creates.” I studied Art Education in college with the intention of sharing my love for art with high school students.  I ended up teaching high school math for three years.  Go figure!  Someday when my kids are older, I may return to the classroom. For now, sharing with all of you is my answer to continuing my passions. Art and crafting have always been a great escape for me. Some go to the gym to release stress, I go to my sewing machine, painting, design programs and even the kitchen. I hope you will find inspiration through my words and work.  My friends and family provide constant inspiration in my work and life.  Please, go to my contact page and introduce yourself.  I would love to hear from you!
